Knightstown, IN- $3.70
So we had a great time with the Fox family. It was great to see them. Hopefully since we are going to be "closer" now we can see them more often. I think it's important for cousins to be together when they are younger. Especially since these are Nathanials only ones. So on our way out of Indianapolis we hit some traffic. I was like it's Saturday why is there traffic. Ken was like maybe there was an accident. We got up to the spot and it was no accident...it was a drug or illegal immigrant bust. It was crazy but kind of cool to see. :)
Brookville, OH- $3.63
So we are in Ohio and there isn't a whole lot to see. Mostly small farming communities but there are more trees here then in Indiana. What I have noticed here...A LOT of antique malls. Seems like every other town has one. Maybe that's the thing to do here...antiquing. I really can't not think of the Drew Carrey show while we are in Ohio. I didn't even care for the show that much but I really don't have much to associate with it.
Delaware, OH- $3.51
So I am not sure about the peeps here in O-hi-o. Columbus is a nice looking city and we ill be going by Cleveland a bit later but I don't think they know how to drive here. Seriously. Twice now we have slowed down for absolutely no reason. It's odd. Then the Ohio state football people. I've never seen so many decked out cars. I mean there are a few in Seattle that do it but I've seen quite a few flags, decals (not just bumper stickers), personalized license plates, and one highly painted car. I guess they just really love their college football in Ohio.
Ashland, OH- $3.59
Ashland, OH- The headquarters for nice people (this was a billboard in this town)
So we think we passed Obama's bus. There were 2 buses with police escort. I remember hearing on NPR yesterday that he was going to be in Pennsylvania today. And since we are almost there that we think it could have been him. I think that's awesome. :)
Akron, OH- Goodyear World Headquarters
Girard, OH- $3.49
So we made it through Ohio and now are in Pennsylvania. It is absolutely beautiful!! Lots of tree covered hills and fantastic colonial farm houses. I am so excited to get to the east. This is really the part of the country that I want to see.

Sparta, WI- $3.72
Crusin Chbbys Gentlemans Club
So we are in Wisconsin. Jst got off the highway to go to the Mousehouse Cheese Haus. Figred we oght to do something Wisconsinesc while we were here. It's a nice state. Lots of trees and water. I am getting excited to see Chicago.
Well we got some wisconsin cheese. I know we shouldn't of given in but what else should you do :). So I know I was excited about the cool farm houses in South Dakota and Minnesota. But the ones in Wisconsin are bigger and in better shape. I hope I can get a good picture of one.
Rockton, IL- $3.69
Hampshire, IL- $3.95
Chicago- $4.01-3.93
Stop bedwetting- stopwetting.com
So we made it through Chi town. We went around the outside so we only saw downtown from a distance. But I do have to say they have awesome rest areas. They call them Oasis. They have everything there: gas, Mcdonalds, starbucks, dog runs, picnic area. I really think that Washington should invest more money into theirs. The bad thing about Chicago...it cost us like $20 just to drive through it. There are sooooo many tollbooths. One or two I can see but we went through like 5. It would have been way cheaper if we were in a car but oh well.
*Billboard-HELL IS REAL*
But now we are in Indiana and we are back to flat lands. But there are definetly more trees here then Minnesota. We should reach our destination in about 2 hours. So we will have a nice night of visiting with Margo, Dan, Hailey and Avery.
Remmington, IL- $3.75
Carmel, IL- $3.69

Chamberlain, SD- $3.61
So we just passed the exit that went off to where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived. Little house has always been one of my favorites (the books and the show). Looking around it's amazing to think that this area is originally where all that stuff happened. I can't wait to get to Minnesota now...maybe I'll see some of the towns they mention. Plus...Prince is from there :).
There are some amazing old farm houses here in the mid west. I can picture them back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It's amazing people still live in them. But I am sure they were passed down through the families. They are just beautiful.
Worthington, Mn- $3.69
Fairmont, MN- $3.59
I have to say Minnesota is one boring state. I've seen corn and soy (we think) and not much else. We just passed a sign that says we are now in Mower County...WOW. I really think the "interesting" part of minnesota must be up north in Minneapolis/ St. Paul. Cause it certianly isn't here. About 100 more miles and we will be in wisconsin. Hopefully a more intersting state.
Spam Museum- Austin, MN
Hormel Headquarters- Austin, MN
Wednesday August 27
Sheriden, wyo- $3.81
On the road again. We are off and running. Have a bit of a plan today. We are going to drive through the badlands in South Dakota. And depending on time we are going to try and make a detour down to Mt. Rushmore. I think today should be a good day.
Kum and go gas station- Gillette, wyo
Campbell county rock pile museum
Gillette, wyo- $3.57
We just passed devils tower. It is amazing how it really just sticks up out of the middle of no where. The land is much flatter now. Its odd how you can be in the foothills one minute and be in a flat valley the next. It's definitely interesting to see.
Well we just hit the rest area in sundance, wyo. I have to say it's a lot nicer then the ones in Washington. It's really beautiful here. Large Valleys with huge hills just sticking up in the middle. Lots more trees then the northern Wyoming or where we came from. Were just on the boarder right before south Dakota. Our time zone will be changing again before we know it.
Rapid City, SD-$3.74
Kadoka, SD- $3.75
So we went up to Mt. Rushmore today. It was super neat to actually see it. It just looks so natural like it was suppose to be there. When we came back down we saw two mountain goats just sitting there. It was awesome. We also kept seeing these billboards for Wall Drug. At first I wasn't exactly sure about it but then the signs just got out of control...seriously. There was a sign like ever 2 miles (even less when we got closer). So we just had to stop and see what the hell this place was. It was the largest place in the city of Wall, SD. You could get just about anything there. We took pictures of us on a giant Jackalope. :) We got dinner there and then started driving through the badlands. But we couldn't really see anything, one, because the sun was setting and two because we didn't take the scenic loop. Oh well. I am excited to get to our hotel and relax. I am sure the cats will be happy to stretch their legs too. Last night they were u all night walking around our room. I don't blame them they sleep all day in the car. Who wants to do that for 8 more hours...lol.
